The .blend file was trying to fuck with me today: Auto IK didn’t work. It worked for other files, it worked when I imported these skeletons into another .blend file… but not here. Thanks to the file containing eight separate layers, importing everything into a new file to prevent that issue was a chore. I now have eight separate .blend files stashed away, each one containing the contents of one of the layers. What bollocks.

But, what does Auto IK do? IK stands for inverse kinematics, which presumably explains bugger all. Without it, you have to modify each and every bone for each and every character one by one. Which is a right pain. With Auto IK active, you can, say, grab a hand and drag it about and the arm moves with it. Which makes it much, much more efficient.
