#194: Terms

So.  Here’s the thing. The Dwarfs are based primarily on two sources. One of them is quite simply, Dwarf Fortress. In particular, its #1 Let’s Play Boatmurdered, which Koganusân is designed and named after. Then there’s the works of Sir Terence David John Pratchett, Guards! Guards! in particular, which is the first book to give some proper insight into Dwarfish culture. Thankfully, the two are not entirely incompatible.

    Guards! Guards! is also one of the early books which has had it’s dwarf culture parts retconned in the later books. Specifically the parts about carrot’s mam being openly female.

    Reminded me a bit of Witches Abroad, the part where the King is more concerned that a cave-in has blocked access to a good seem rather than the fact his son was inside the cave in
